Introduction: |
Blossom is a confident, outspoken little girl who likes dressing up and choosing her own clothes. She is described by her carer as a pleasure to look after. She really loves arts and crafts activities. She likes drawing and reading books with her carer. Blossoms concentration span is good and she retains information well. She is a quick learner and is very pleased with herself as she has recently learnt to skip. |

| We are looking for a one or two-parent adoptive family, ideally Christian, who can ideally reflect or actively promote Blossoms ethnicity and culture, although all families will be considered. Twice-yearly indirect contact is envisaged with Blossom's birth parents and siblings, who are in foster care. A Placement order has been made. Financial support may be available. | ||
Some more about Blossom |
Blossom became looked after in summer 2010 following lack of care, including exposure to domestic violence. Blossom has been with her foster carer since then, with her brother and another of their siblings who are to be placed separately. Initially, Blossom found it difficult to adjust to the foster familys routine and boundaries, but she is now settled and has adapted incredibly well. Blossom can sometimes be sensitive and emotional, but her carers gentle approach and professional support help manage her anger, which has helped to improve her behaviour. She is aware of this, and asks her foster carer every day if her behaviour has changed. Blossom is becoming increasingly relaxed in the foster home, and is more receptive to physical affection from her carer. Blossoms diet is limited, but her carer has managed to introduce new foods. She likes bananas, pears, but her favourite is cucumber. Blossom is meeting all her targets at school where she is doing very well. Her carer is encouraging her to form relationships with her peers and she celebrated her birthday with classmates and a bouncy castle which she really enjoyed. Blossom speaks English, and has a little understanding of Yoruba, her birth parents language. She has been brought up as Christian. Blossom is the youngest child in her birth family, and the agency feel she would benefit from being the only or eldest child in her adoptive family. |
